The Crew

At Virile, barbering is more than a profession—it’s a tradition. It sets us apart from the ordinary. Every cut and style reflects our passion and dedication. For us, this isn’t just work; it’s a labor of love.

Jim Harvey
Waldwick, NJ

  • Jim has been cutting hair and honing his skills since 2015. Starting as a receptionist at Virile, was quickly inspired by fellow barbers to pick up a clipper and start working on the craft. Having demonstrated strong leadership and a passion for his craft he became co-owner in 2019. Now his main goals are to make clients feel as welcome and comfortable as possible getting in the chair, and a lot more confident getting out of it. With a good combination of clipper and scissor skills, puts out nothing but consistently great work.

When he’s not cutting hair he’s focused on being a dad. An animal lover, inspired by film, energized by sports, and grounded by the art of growing bonsai. Finding balance in the little things.

  • Adam is a third-generation barber and the founder of Virile Barber & Shop, which he opened in 2011. Beginning his career in women’s hair, he set out to create a more tailored, elevated experience for men’s grooming and barbering in New Jersey.

His work has been featured in publications including GQ, Men’s Health, Good Morning America, American Salon, and more. Proficient in both scissor and clipper work, Adam apprenticed under his mother and went on to pursue advanced education with leading industry professionals. With nearly two decades of experience, he remains deeply committed to refining his craft.

Building lasting relationships with clients, his team, and the surrounding community is at the core of Adam’s approach to barbering. This approach is rooted in trust, consistency, and lifelong learning.

Outside the shop, Adam enjoys playing bass and guitar, discovering new music and art, cooking, and spending time hiking in the mountains. Spending time with family and friends. He also has a passion for formulating grooming products designed to help clients look and feel their best. His preferred sports are boxing and MMA, strictly as a spectator.
